Holistic Integration
Psychotherapy with Julia Jackson, LCSW
Trauma-Informed • Attachment-Focused • Integrative

What is Psychotherapy like at HI?

Therapy at Holistic Integration is a place where you are invited to show up as your whole self.

It is a space to be fully seen. To have your own sacred space to be held in the most tender of life's moments. To bring the parts of yourself that are grieving, angry, confused, ashamed, overwhelmed, hopeful, changing or still trying to understand what happened in life, that created you to be how you currently are. And sometimes, it is a space to laugh, celebrate, dream, be curious, and rediscover parts of yourself that got lost somewhere along the way.

My approach is deeply humanistic and whole-person centered. I am interested not only in what you are experiencing, but in understanding the systems, relationships, experiences, beliefs, and patterns that helped shape you. Together, we begin mapping those patterns.

We may explore family-of-origin dynamics, attachment, relationships, trauma responses, boundaries, recurring conflicts, coping strategies, and the roles you learned to occupy within your family or relationships. We look at what a pattern once did for you, what continues to activate it, and whether it still belongs in the life you are creating.

Our work can also move beyond traditional conversation.

We may explore dreams and symbolism through a Jungian lens, examine thoughts, behaviors, and self-fulfilling patterns through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, communication, and conflict resolution.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) may help us explore what cannot be controlled, clarify what matters deeply to you, and identify how you want to move forward in alignment with those values.

We may explore the different parts of yourself: the protector, the perfectionist, the caretaker, the one who shuts down, the one who overfunctions, the one who learned to survive and become curious about what each part has been trying to accomplish.

Throughout the process, we identify what you need in your everyday life: coping skills that actually work for you, boundaries with yourself and others, healthier communication, greater emotional awareness, and practices that help you feel more grounded and connected to yourself.

The goal isn't to reduce you to a diagnosis or simply manage symptoms.

It is to understand the whole person, recognize the patterns, get closer to the roots, and create new ways of responding to yourself, your relationships, and your life.

Areas I Work With

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some are navigating a specific mental health concern, while others recognize patterns in their relationships, emotions, or lives that they are ready to understand more deeply.

My areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety, worry, and feeling overwhelmed

  • Trauma and the lasting impact of difficult experiences

  • Low self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence

  • Family-of-origin issues and childhood relationship patterns

  • Unhealthy relationship dynamics and relational patterns

  • Domestic abuse and the impact of emotionally or psychologically harmful relationships

  • Attachment and relationship concerns

  • Grief, loss, and significant endings

  • Major life transitions and identity shifts

  • Boundary setting and people-pleasing

  • Emotional regulation and difficulty expressing emotions

  • Stress, burnout, and feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Women's issues and experiences

  • Personal growth, self-understanding, and reconnecting with your authentic self

My work is particularly suited for people who want to understand not only what they are experiencing, but where their patterns came from, how those patterns may have once protected them, and what they want to carry forward differently.

Treatment recommendations are individualized following assessment, and referrals may be recommended when a client's needs require a different specialty or level of care.
